Embrace Mistakes

I love this article on the MMCA Marketplace blog by Seth Apter. He reminds us that making mistakes is very much the part of the creative process. By embracing our mistakes or even the possibility of mistakes we can grow as artists and connect deeper with our creative self. Seth says, "As in life, what is most important is how we react and respond to the mistakes we make. And as in life, if the fear of making a mistake holds you back, you will never reach your potential. You may never know what you are capable of. You may never unleash the artist inside. So embrace the mistake. You will be happy you did!"

I know this fear of make mistakes during the creative process has held me back in my own work. It tends to force me to exist too much in my head instead of letting my heart lead the creativity. I post this as a reminder to all my creative friends as well as myself that making mistakes is part of the process and embracing them is the best way to reach your creative potential.

Cheers!
